About Me

Jess Bardin is a linguist, freelance writer, travel and language blogger, traveller, nerd, and obsessive reader. She blogs about her experiences travelling and learning languages. One time, she pet a deer. Several, in fact.

Jess earned a BA in history from Vassar College before moving to Japan to teach English as a Second Language. She later earned an MA in English from Indiana University, got certified to teach ESL, started her first novel, and began writing professionally.

Now, in addition to her own blog and novel, she writes and manages clients for a boutique Internet SEO and marketing company, ghostwrites blogs for clients, produces website content, and proofreads other writers' work. She also edits textbooks part-time.

She spends her free time reading (find her here on Goodreads), doing karate, playing video games (mostly Star Wars the Old Republic and World of Warcraft), and teaching herself languages. She speaks Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Korean in varying stages of fluency.
